Shipping, Delivery & Claims

Last updated: October 2026

This page explains how RBM Oil Corporation packs and dispatches lubricants from Pune, what happens on delivery, and how to report damage, shortage or a quality problem. It forms part of our Terms of Sale.

Dispatch point

Orders are dispatched from our facility at Sr. No. 42, Rasikwadi, Jambe Road, Punawale, Pune 411033, Maharashtra, India, unless we tell you otherwise in the order confirmation.

Pack sizes and packaging

Our products are supplied in the following forms, depending on the product:

  • retail packs (1 L to 5 L);
  • 20 L pails;
  • 210 L steel drums;
  • 1,000 L IBC totes; and
  • bulk road tankers (up to about 20 KL).

Packages are sealed and labelled with the product name, grade and batch number. Export shipments are packed to suit sea or air freight, with palletising and wrapping as needed.

Lead times

Dispatch lead times are given in the quotation or order confirmation and begin once the order is confirmed and any advance payment or documents are received. Standard grades are usually dispatched faster than made-to-order products, custom blends and private-label work. Dates are estimates, not guarantees.

Domestic delivery

Within India we deliver by road through our transport partners, to the address on your order. Freight is either included in the price or charged separately, as stated in the quotation. Please make sure someone is available to receive and unload the goods, and that the site can handle the vehicle and any material-handling equipment needed for drums, IBCs or tankers.

Export shipments

Export orders are shipped on the Incoterms agreed in the quotation (for example FOB, CFR or CIF). We provide the export documents required for the shipment, such as the commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin where applicable, safety data sheets and the batch Certificate of Analysis. The Buyer is responsible for import licences, duties, taxes and customs clearance at the destination, and for providing accurate consignee details.

Risk and insurance

Risk passes as set out in the agreed Incoterm or, for domestic sales, when the goods are handed to the carrier unless we agree otherwise. We recommend cargo insurance for all shipments and can arrange it on request.

Checking your delivery

Please check the goods on delivery. Before signing the transporter's receipt:

  • count the packages and compare them with the invoice;
  • look for leaking, dented or damaged drums, pails or totes and broken seals; and
  • note any shortage or damage on the receipt.

Raising a claim

Report visible damage, shortage or wrong supply in writing to sales@rbmoilcorporation.in within 48 hours of delivery in India, or within 7 days of arrival at the destination port for export shipments, with the invoice number, batch number, photographs and the noted transporter's receipt. For concealed damage or a quality concern, notify us within 15 days of delivery and keep the material, unused where possible, so it can be inspected and sampled.

Remedies

If a claim is accepted, we will, at our choice, replace the affected goods, supply the shortage or issue a credit note. Our liability is limited as set out in the Terms of Sale. We cannot accept claims for goods that have been blended with other products, contaminated after delivery, or stored contrary to the instructions on the label and data sheet.

Returns

Lubricants cannot be resold once they leave our control, so goods are not returnable unless we have agreed in writing, for example to replace non-conforming products. Please contact us before returning anything.

Storage on receipt

Store drums and pails in a clean, dry, covered area, away from heat and direct sunlight. If drums must be stored outdoors, keep them horizontal or tilted to prevent water entering around the bungs, and keep seals intact until use.
